The three herbs
Arjuna is the bark that Ayurvedic cardiology is built on, described in the classical texts specifically in relation to the heart and used continuously for that purpose for well over a thousand years. Hawthorn occupies a parallel place in European herbal tradition, where it has been the cardiac herb for centuries, one of the rare cases of two unconnected traditions arriving at the same plant family for the same organ. Coleus forskohlii is the modern member of the three, the source of forskolin and the most studied of the group in contemporary literature.
How to take it
One capsule twice a day, thirty minutes before breakfast and before dinner, with water. Take it consistently: circulatory support formulations are cumulative and are assessed over months rather than days. Keep taking whatever your cardiologist has prescribed. Herbs in this category can interact with cardiac and blood-pressure medication, so tell your doctor you are taking it and let them decide about your dose.
