Natural Body Scrubs
Exfoliation is preparation. A scrub clears what would otherwise sit between your skin and everything you apply afterward. The Vitalizing Body Scrub polishes and energizes as the opening step of the Vitalizing therapy series. The Anti-Cellulite Body Scrub begins the four-step Anti-Cellulite Program, readying skin for the oil, cream and wrap mask that follow. Both are made in our own Goa lab on standardized botanical extracts, with physical exfoliants chosen to polish without scratching, and botanical oils that leave skin comfortable rather than stripped.
What a scrub actually does
Two things, and it is worth separating them. The first is removal: the dull, dry outer layer that builds up on shins, thighs, upper arms and back comes away, and skin reflects light again instead of absorbing it. The second is mechanical: the circular pressure of scrubbing brings blood to the surface and warms the tissue, which is why every body treatment sequence in the world opens with it. Everything applied afterwards meets prepared skin and performs measurably better for it.
Choosing between the two
The Vitalizing Body Scrub is the general-purpose choice, and the one to buy if you are buying only one. It suits normal skin, works year-round, and pairs naturally with the Vitalizing massage oil, cream and wrap mask. The Anti-Cellulite Body Scrub is the targeted option, formulated as step one of the anti-cellulite sequence, focused on thighs, hips and upper arms.
How to use it without overdoing it
Once or twice a week, no more. Use on damp skin in the shower, working in small circles, firmly but without force, and spend longer on the rough areas than the smooth ones. Rinse warm. Follow immediately with a body oil, cream or lotion while skin is still holding water, which is when a moisturizer does its best work. Skip a scrub over broken skin, sunburn or fresh shaving.
Grit matters more than fragrance
The commonest fault in a body scrub is an abrasive that is too sharp or too large, which creates micro-tears the skin then has to repair. Ours are sized and shaped to polish, suspended in botanical oils rather than a drying detergent base, so skin finishes soft instead of tight.
