Relaxing Body Therapy

Relaxation, in the Ayurvedic tradition, is not a mood but a practice, and massage oil is its central tool. The Relaxing Massage Oil at the heart of this therapy is formulated in our own Goa lab from calming botanical oils, made for slow, warm, end-of-day massage that releases muscles and settles the mind. It pairs naturally with the Pitta shower gel for sensitive skin and the relaxing steps of the wider body range.

Abhyanga, briefly

Self-massage with warm oil is one of the oldest daily practices in Ayurveda, described in the classical texts as abhyanga and prescribed not as an indulgence but as routine maintenance, in the same register as brushing your teeth. The traditional claim is that it settles vata, the principle governing movement and, when disturbed, restlessness and poor sleep. The modern reading is less poetic and points the same way: slow rhythmic pressure on the skin engages the parasympathetic nervous system, and warmth plus touch is a reliable route out of a wound-up day.

How to do it properly

Warm the bottle in a bowl of hot water for a minute. Work on dry skin before showering, not after. Start at the feet and move upward, long strokes along the limbs, circles at the joints, and spend real time on the soles, the calves and the shoulders. Ten minutes is enough; twenty is better. Leave the oil on for ten to fifteen minutes if you can, then shower warm with a gentle gel so you rinse the excess without stripping the benefit. Evening is the right time, an hour or so before sleep.

What to expect, and what not to

Most people notice the effect on sleep before they notice anything on their skin, and the skin change, when it comes, is texture and comfort rather than transformation. It asks very little: ten minutes, warm hands, and an oil whose ingredients you trust. That last part is where we come in.

Made by us, listed in full

Like everything we sell, this oil is made in our own GMP-certified Goa facility on standardized botanical ingredients, with the full list printed plainly on the product page. Most massage oils on the market are bought in bulk and rebranded. Ours comes from the lab that has been standardizing Ayurvedic botanicals since 1963. The practice is ancient. The formulation is accountable.
