The absorption problem, in plain terms
Curcumin is the reason anybody studies turmeric, and it has an awkward property: taken orally in the ordinary way, very little of it reaches the bloodstream. It dissolves poorly in water, is metabolised rapidly in the gut wall and liver, and is cleared quickly. This is why a spoonful of kitchen turmeric, however good it is in food, is not the same intervention as the doses used in research, and why the supplement aisle is full of workarounds involving black pepper, oils and various delivery vehicles.

Cytostorm is built as a fast-dissolving oral tablet designed to release under the tongue, so a portion of the extract is absorbed through the tissue of the mouth rather than passing straight into the digestive tract. It is a route pharmacists use for exactly this class of problem. It also means no capsule shell, no gelatine and nothing to swallow, which matters more than it sounds for daily compliance.
How to take it
One tablet, placed under the tongue and allowed to dissolve rather than chewed or swallowed with water. Take it away from food and drink for a few minutes either side so the tissue has time to do its work. Turmeric is well tolerated by most people over long periods; if you take blood thinners or are due surgery, ask your doctor first, as you would with any concentrated botanical.
Tradition and evidence, connected by standardization
Turmeric has several thousand years of continuous use in Ayurvedic practice and one of the largest modern research literatures of any botanical. Standardization is what connects the two: it guarantees the measured presence of the compounds all that research actually studied, batch after batch.
